Born in 1950 in the remote area of Mrehwa east of Harare. Born into a family of artists, he discovered his creativity making clay pots, cows and other small animals. At the age of 12 his family moved to Harare.

A year later he was introduced to Shadu Chatsama, a master in head carving. He worked for him as a washer and polisher and after two years letter Shadu encouraged him to work on the stone. Later, under the guidance of Noah Mudhokwani, Zach become influenced into art and developed his skills.

“Now I am addicted to my work. I specialize in human creation faces and abstracts. My work has been exhibited in the world galleries. I thank all the artists at Hector Paterson Centre who made me what I am.”
